 How to Apply:

To apply for a scholarship from the Texas Independent Automotive Association, a student must fill out our online application and mail an official student transcript to TIAA Scholarship Fund, PO BOX 65148, San Antonio, TX 78265  

Who May Apply: 

To be a candidate for the scholarship you must:
     · Must be a resident of Texas
     · Plan to pursue a career in the professional automotive aftermarket industry
     · Meet the criteria established here for scholarship consideration
     · Attend an ASE/NATEF certified general automotive training program within Texas

Criteria For Selection: 

     · Maintain a 2.5 grade point average
     · Past attendance record at school  
     · Special abilities or competencies
     · Extracurricular activities
     · Overall attitude (if personal interview required)
     · Goals presented
     · References 

Scholarship Awards: 

     · Scholarships award amounts, usually $500 and up, vary based on recommendation of TIAA Scholarship Committee made up of TIAA state and chapter members.  Number of scholarships awarded each year also vary based upon available funds.

     - TIAA scholarships are awarded in the name of the the John Pundt Memorial Scholarship, Bill Raybuck Memorial Scholarship, and Don Staglik Memorial Scholarship.

 Deadline: 

     - The deadline to apply for a scholarship is June 1 each calendar year.  Scholarship awards are made no later than Sept. 1 each calendar year.

Certification:

     The Texas Independent Automotive Association, San Antonio, Texas has the sole responsibility for selecting recipient, basing its decision on criteria as described in the program’s brochure. All information contained in this application will be kept confidential. 

     * Scholarship Funds are NOT available for manufacturer-specific programs such as GM or Ford Training.
