TIAA president says farewell to membership
TIAA president says farewell to membership

I would like to thank everyone that has entrusted me with the honor of serving you as the State President of the Texas Independent Automotive Association.

I have had the distinct privilege of holding this position two times in my tenure with TIAA. The fist time from 1998-2001 and now from 2007-2010. I have enjoyed the time I have spent in office and have served TIAA with all my heart and soul. This association has and always will have a special place in my heart and I will cherish the many friendships I have made along the way.

I started serving on the Alamo Chapter board in 1987 and have held numerous positions at the local level including Alamo Chapter President from 1992-1994. I have also held just about every position you can hold in the organization and am proud to have had the opportunity.

With the support of many people I would not have been able to perform these duties as well as I have. I would especially like to give credit to my wife Darla Pundt who has stood by me and has supported me through all the good times and the difficult times which have been many. Darla has been my inspiration and the driving force behind me and without here I could never of done any of this.

I have learned so many things about running a successful auto repair shop and have learned lessons in leadership that I would have never come to know if it were not for TIAA.

It is amazing how much you grow as a leader simply by serving and getting involved and I am so great full for the opportunities that I have had while serving this great association.

As all things come to and end so must my tenure of duties as your State President.
It has been a long road to get to where I am now and I am happy to pass the torch to a young enthusiastic person such as Louie Sirianni.

My final request as your Past State President of TIAA is that you show Louie the respect and support that I have received from you all.  And to remind us all that it will require hard work and effort by us all to continue with the work of supporting our members and the industry.

Best regards,
Gary Pundt
