Gary Pundt currently serves as the state president of the Texas Independent Automotive Association.

Gary is a second generation shop owner. His family started Alamo Heights Garage in San Antonio in 1958. He has grown up in the business and has worked in the automotive industry since the age of 16. Gary attended Texas State Technical Collage and received a degree in automotive technology in 1985. He is an ASE certified master automotive technician with a L1 designation.

 

John Pundt Sr. was part of the founding members of the Texas Independent Automotive Association in 1980 and Gary has continued the work his father started after his passing in 1986.

 

Gary has held numerous positions on both the local and state board of directors since 1988 and is currently serving his second appointment as State President. It is his vision to unite the automotive aftermarket and bring accreditation and dignity, and promote professionalism to all independent garage men and women throughout the great state of Texas. 

 

He works tirelessly on behalf of all TIAA members to create exciting new benefits that help increase profits, to promote effective business and management practices, and stimulate industry growth for anyone that takes advantage of networking tools available through membership in the association.
