Dingell, Congresswoman Betty Sutton, Congressman Jay Inslee, and Congressman Bart Stupak reached an agreement today on a "Cash for Clunkers" program that will help the auto industry while cleaning our air. The Texas Independent Automotive Association opposes any cash for clunkers legislation because it will take away business from automotive repair facilities.  "This money is just as well spent on fixing these older vehicles than using it to prop up new vehicle sales," said Lee Roberts, TIAA executive director.

TIAA encourages its members, all automotive and collision repair businesses, aftermarket parts industry, and all citizens to write to members of the U.S. Congress & Senate to make their opinions known regarding Cash for Clunkers legislation.
